The district just does not care about West, only Stem. West keeps falling behind. Teachers are burned out.

I think this is is a okay school district, because, well, there was much reports proving that this school is good but , the school PAID the press to release such information

My son is a West Senior and my daughter is at Bradford Heights. I absolutly love the district and all the educators who my children have had the oppurtunity to cross paths with. Iam saddened that we are moving out of state and DASD will really be the only thingIll miss from home, great schools great teachers, very supportive.

I'll admit I didn't always love this school when I was a student but as I've grown older and graduated college this school is by far one of the bests. In college as far as Math and Writing came I honestly could not believe that other high schools had such low standards. Even as far as writing a lab report was a challenge in college for other students where Downingtown had already taught me the basics. The class choices this school offers are top notch. Many other high schools cannot offer half of what West has and with STEM now open the opportunities seem endless. This school (and district) will challenge you but you will be prepared for college. Many students fail to realize just how limiting other schools are and the opportunities Downingtown gives, take advantage of them.

This is a really quality school in a really quality district. The best in Chester County now. Work in another "top district" in ChesCo, but moved my family to Downingtown when it came time to educate my OWN children. Excellent everything.

Amazing school in so many ways. I personally went to a very expensive and elite private school, yet I have no doubt that my children (at West and at STEM) are receiving an education that is superior to my own. I know that moving into this District when my children were young was one of the greatest gifts we were able to give them. Thank you to DASD!

My two daughters graduated in 2005 & 2006. They were very successful students (Honors, AP GPA's of 4.25 & 3.8 etc..) They were both good students on their own, but I believe the Faculty & Administration at DWHS was a great factor in their success. I found them to be supportive & caring. Students were treated with resprct, but who also expected to be respectful. The Musci, Arts & English Departments were the best. I think the language department could use a little improvement.

There are high standards. The students have to work at it, but if they ask for help when its needed, they will do absoultly fine. The school proggrams are excellent from swimming to band to special needs.

I Agree, Change of schools for my child was not easy because of the rigorous standards. However the Guidance Dept. is Spectacular!

High standards and expectations. Students have to work for good grades. Excellent faculty and staff. Several extra-curricular activities. No tolerance for intollerance. Overall, it is a great school. Teachers generally care about students.

Moved here from NC. my son says it's harder but that means they expect more. The class choices are unbelievable. So are the sports and clubs

An excellent public school! Great teachers, plenty of educational and extra-curricular activities available, and a good reputation for placing students at excellent colleges and universities.

Downington Schools are the best! I moved my children here in 2004 from Michigan, and you can't even begin to compare! It was the best thing I could have ever done for my kids and their futures. I have a child in DEHS and Uwchlan elementary and I brag to everyone in Michigan how wonderful these schools are! They have so much to offer! Great education! Great teachers! It's such a shame that all schools don't offer education like this.

The teachers at DHS are highly involved and press for good results. Most teachers will stay after school to help on an individual or small group basis.
